LA GENERALA

This uncommon title by Amadeo Vives (author of the famous Doña Francisquita, Bohemios, Maruxa) was premiered in 1912 and reflects the new musical tastes at that time and the clear influence of the Viennese operetta.

This new production of Teatro de la Zarzuela is led by Stage director Emilio Sagi and Conductor Cristóbal Soler.

¡UNA NOCHE DE ZARZUELA…! 

¡Una noche de Zarzuela…! Lyrical dream in two acts. Under the theatrical pretext - the misadventures of a company during the Spanish Civil War-  this new production of Teatro de la Zarzuela shows an extensive lyrical anthology of the best Zarzuela repertoire.

LUISA FERNANDA

Dress rehearsal of Luisa Fernanda,  one of the most popular titles of the Spanish Lyric genre. It was Moreno Torroba´s  fourth zarzuela and his first big success, premiered in Madrid in 1932. 
This new production of Teatro de la Zarzuela is led by Stage director Luis Olmos and conducted by Cristóbal Soler.

World premiere in Spanish language of the Italian opera in two acts, written by the composer Pierangelo Valtinoni and libretto by Paolo Madron,  after the classic tale Le Avventure di Pinocchio by Carlo Collodi. New production of  Teatro Lírico Nacional de la Zarzuela.

LA VERBENA DE LA PALOMA

La verbena de la Paloma is one of the greatest zarzuelas of all the genre. Bretón composed this score in only nineteen days. He wrote: "I composed in the cafés, the taverns, even on benches in the street.” It was an enormous and instantaneous success. Since then, it has been performed countless times in Spain and America.

LOS DIAMANTES DE LA CORONA, by Francisco A. Barbieri. 

This new production of Teatro de la Zarzuela, led by the artistic team of Conductor Cristobal Soler and Stage director, José Carlos Plaza, was a success and nominated for the International Opera Awards 2015.

GALANTEOS EN VENECIA, by Francisco A. Barbieri 

Galanteos en Venecia, (Madrid, 1853) zarzuela in three acts composed by Fracisco Asenjo Barbieri (1823-1894). Libretto by Luis Olona.
This new production of Teatro de la Zarzuela is a premiere in modern times. The documentaries include brief comments of the artistic team: Conductor Cristobal Soler, Stage director, Paco Mir (Tricicle) and cast members.

LA GRAN DUQUESA DE GEROLSTEIN, by Jaques Offenbach

Following an old tradition of successful lyric titles in Spain, Teatro de la Zarzuela programmed a Spanish version of this famous French operetta in three acts by Jaques Offenbach. Libretto by Henri Meilhac and Ludovic Halévy.
